Yallah

I had always wanted to photograph the motorbikes of Marrakech. I just didn't know how yet.

While travelling to Tafergalt to work on Dreamland, my father passed away unexpectedly in Marrakech. For the first weeks I couldn't photograph. The grief was too heavy. I couldn't see anything anymore.

About three weeks after his death, a group of women came to offer their condolences to my mother. I went up to the rooftop with my camera to photograph a football pitch. When I looked to the right, I suddenly saw the motorbikes moving around the roundabout below.

It truly felt like a gift.
